Misticanza is an experiment around the larger theme of the contemporary productive process.
In the global offshore production Era, we choose to make a furniture design series, through a short production chain strategy. These objects features are inspired by roman misticanza qualities: simplicity, variety of shapes and raw materials.
The elements are built mainly with recycled materials, after a long collection process on the territory.
During the “New Life For Markets” project, developed by Eutropian, we set up with misticanza prototypes the two public workshop spaces, located in Pigneto and Metronio market in Roma. New Life for Markets is a project that aims at elaborating strategies to revitalize declining marketplaces.
This” instant and mobile laboratory” hosted two public meetings, “Market as a Food Distribution Hub” about the local food short distribution chain and “Refunctionalise Markets”, on including new social and cultural functions to marketplaces.
Thus the two markets underused spaces have been temporarily transformed into cozy spaces for sharing and interacting, in a different way from the sole commercial use, adding diversity to the system.
Misticanza furnitures series, can indeed adapt to different contexts; it brings conviviality to collective spaces and inhabit the domestic environment intimate spaces.
